Coastweek
-- Everyone on this Kenya Airways plane thinks I’m
an idiot
I’m heading back to London for a few weeks and,
while writing my blog for Coastweek, decide to listen to music
on I-Tunes to get me in the mood.
Ear plugs in, I crank up Toto’s Africa. I’m
buzzing.
"I bless the rains down in Africa, ooh ooh
ooh"
I lip sync to myself as I write.
It’s just as I get to the immortal line "Sure
as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti" that a
nice man in the seat in front gestures kindly to me – turns out I’ve
not pushed my earplugs fully into the jack and this song has been
blaring ALL over the plane.
Damn, why couldn’t it have been Public Enemy?
I have them on my I-Tunes, it was going to be them
next, I swear it was.
