Cricket with Nairobi Gymkhana, Stray Lions and Goan Institute
 
NAIROBI -- Cricket report of the matches played at Nairobi Gymkhana (Lords of Kenya) yesterday (Sunday) between Nairobi Gymkhana A Vs. Stray Lions A (In the Morning) and Nairobi Gymkhana B Vs. Goan Institute. (In the afternoon), writes Subhash Modi.

The tournament is called Nairobi Invitational Cricket League.

Scorer: - Kabale Abduba (Nairobi Gymkhana/ East African Cricket Development). Morning.

Brief Results:- Morning:- (Super League)

Nairobi Gymkhana Captain Karan kaul won the toss and elected to field first.

Stray Lions scored 129 for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs thanks to brilliant knock by Aman Gandhi 66 and he was well supported by Bansi Patel 18 Not Out and Himanshu Dixit 14.

Raj Savala 2/21, Dominic Wasonga 1/22 and Amish Patel 1/18 were the main wickets takers for Nairobi Gymkhana.

In reply, Nairobi Gymkhana managed to score the required runs - 135/3 for the loss of 3 wickets in 19 overs.

Karan Kaul batted intelligently throughout the innings with a fine unbeaten 50 and he was well supported by Abdul Namji 23, Lucas Olouch 21 Not Out, Dominic Wasonga 20, Kavi Dosaji 17.

Nitin Arvind 2/26 and Rajiv Mehta 1/36 bowled well for Stray Lions.

Other highlights were:

Kavi Dosaji (Nairobi Gymkhana) took a brilliant catch behind the stumps to dismiss Aman Gandhi of Stray Lions.

David Mutua of Stray Lions took a world class catch to dismiss Dominic Wasongo.

Nairobi Gymkhana won by 7 wickets.

AFTERNOON: (Division 1).

Goan Institute A batted first and scored 87/7 in 20 overs( Jatin Vaghela 19, Jitesh Vaghela 15 and Quresh Bhaijee 13).

Nilesh Patel(Lali) 2/10, Ankit Patel 1/17 and Parth Patel 1/28 spearheaded the bowling for Nairobi Gymkhana.

In reply Nairobi Gymkhana batted comfortably to score the winning runs - 91 for the loss of 2 wickets in 9.4 overs.

Top scorers were Captain Murtaza Abbas 32, Nilesh Patel (Lali) 27 Not Out Parth Patel 11 not Out.

For GI Malhar Patel 1/10 and Betab Darji 1/21 bowled well.

Nairobi Gymkhana won by 8 wickets.
