NAIROBI (Xinhua) --
Two professional women golfers Rose Naliaka and Bhavi Shah have
landed invites and will compete at this year’s Ladies European Tour (LET) set
for Oct. 3-6 in Kenyan coastal city of Mombasa.
It will be the first
time that Kenya will be hosting one of the legs of the LET.
LET is equivalent to the Kenya Open, which is part of the European Tour
circuit which is ongoing in Nairobi.
Kenya’s amateur player Naomi Wafula, 20, may also be invited to the exclusive
"The Kenyan event will be among the top five events in the Ladies Tour," said
David Jones, one of the organizers of the LET.
The 2019 LET is a series of golf tournaments for elite female golfers from
around the world, being played from January through November.
The tour has some of the world’s best 100 golfers.
Jones said that cabinet secretary for tourism Najib Balala was impressed with
the ladies tour as the government agreed to a three-year contract to facilitate
