Dynamic Dar Es Salaam Shree Lohana Mahajan host
successful 35th Lohana Sports and Cultural Festival

DAR ES SALAAM Tanzania -- The most recent jointly funded 35th Lohana Sports and Cultural Festival was brilliantly organised according to the Festival Secretary General Vinay Dawda.

Four-day event was hosted by Dar es Salaam Lohana Mahajan under the dynamic festival chairmanship of Pulin Manek and his festival committee.

  He also introduced the new Secretary General Hemal Sachdev from Arusha, Tanzania who was elected during the Annual General meeting held in Dar es Salaam.

The festival started with a colourful and mind-blowing opening ceremony, reports Subhash Modi.

Sports Games commenced on day two with a one of kind ‘carnival themed evening.’

On the third evening a cultural night was presented to the Audience, where all centres from East Africa showcased great talent with youths and adults taking part. On the last evening of festival, the sports participants were honoured with winners and runners up awards before the closing ceremony.

All the evening events took place at the Aga Khan Diamond Jubilee Hall; confirmed Sunny Ruparelia Festival Public Relations Convener.

Pulin Manek, highly appreciated the Secretary General Vinay Dawda for his timely and helpful guidance throughout the festival.

He also acknowledged all the Festival organising team, various committees, all the participating centres, sponsors, volunteers and all those who worked around the clock to make the festival a huge success.

Manek also paid glowing tributes to the host Chairman Navinbhai Kanabar and his management committee for their support.

Festival Secretary Situ Ramji, briefly highlighted the overall trophy winners for the sports festival.

Dar es Salaam took top honours for Badminton, Cricket, Football, Marathon, Tennis, Snooker, Swimming and volleyball.

Nairobi took top honours for Darts, Golf, Table Tennis and joint winners for Squash with Kisumu, who were also winners for Throwball, Ramji confirmed

Cultural Performances, including colourful traditional dancing, were featured by different East African Lohana Centers.

The Festival Shield was received by Lohana Youth League Nairobi Chairman Aashish Lakhani and Lohana Mahajan Mandal Nairobi Chairman Bharat Thacker as hosts for 36th LSCF 2020 in Nairobi.

The Sports and Cultural Festival was attended by over 1000 people including dignitaries from East African Centres and some Past Secretary General’s.

The centres that took part included Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Kampala, Nairobi, Nakuru and Kisumu, confirmed Sonal Ganatra Festival Public Relationship Director.

The festival founders Damjibhai Mandavia, Subhashbhai Modi and Jayantbhai Badiani conveyed heartiest congratulations for the unique festival and great show.
