NAIROBI (Xinhua) --
Kenya’s tourism authority said Monday it has
kicked off a promotion campaign in the United States to woo more
visitors in light of Kenya Airways’ direct flight between New
York City and Nairobi.
“The roadshow, which
comes against the backdrop of the launch of non-stop, direct
flights between Kenya and the U.S. on Oct. 28, 2018, provides
KTB and the private sector with an opportunity to promote
destination Kenya to travel and tour operators from the North
American region,” Betty Radier, CEO of Kenya Tourism Board (KTB)
said in a statement issued in Nairobi.
“Our goal is to
increase tourist arrivals from the U.S. by 15 percent during the
current fiscal year 2018/19,” said Radier.
KTB has teamed up
with more than 10 private sector companies drawn from across the
Kenya’s tourism sector to line up promotional city roadshow
campaigns in the United States that run on Dec. 3-7.

be covered during the roadshow include New York City, Boston and

the United States market is currently Kenya’s top market,
accounting for 12.2 percent of total international arrivals to

event will provide a platform for the promotion of Kenya’s top
and signature experiences in the United States which include its
world-renowned wildlife safari, culture and heritage, adventure,
and special occasions.
