Astounding Performance of Miritini Against Bilima

Coastweek -- Miritini Stars rallied from behind to score two goals in a dramatic three minutes spell to level the scores at 2-2 against visiting Bilima United in a thrilling FKF South Coast Branch Pool D match played at Miritini primary.

It was a high octane stuff as Miritini Stars resilience, fighting spirit and attacking prowess proved too much for Bilima United who eventually buckled and caved during the injury time.

Bilima United were regarded as favourites before the kick off and took lead in the 12th minute through Abubakar Pryce before Ramadhan Salim made it 2-0 ten minutes to time.

In the dying minutes Miritini Stars launched a comeback and struck dramatic equalizers to level the scores at 2-2 with goals from Omar Nassoro in the 87th miuten and Gibran Kimega in the 98th minute.

With the results Bilima United maintained the podium position of the 9 team Pool D with 24 points from 11 matches and four points behind second placed Miritini Stars who have two matches in hand.

Bilima United play host to third placed Real Gonga from Mwatate in their next league match at Bilima ground on September 15, 2018.

Elsewhere in the other Pool D league match played at Mwatunge primary, Mwatate Real Gonga hammered Kongowea AIC from Mombasa 1-0 thanks to a strike by Anthony Mwasambu in the 37th minute.

At Viva ground, Ukunda hosts Green Marine were held to a one all draw by visiting Rabai Sports.

Benson Kabira broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute and Addie Mwambaji restored parity for Rabai Sports one minutes after resumption.

Meanwhile, Mikindani Youth Soccer Academy (MIYOSA) Ladies picked their first win of the season in the FKF South Coast Branch Women league with a narrow 1-2 win over Fortune Ladies in an entertaining match played at Freretown, Mombasa.

MIYOSA under Coach Justine Nyagah needed a quick fix after their 2-3 home defeat by Ukunda Starlets.

MIYOSA drew the first blood in the 12th minute through Khadija Suleiman for 1-0 lead at the first stanza. Sabina Wanjiku made it 2-0 five minutes after resumption.

The hosts earned their consolation goal two minutes later through Diana Bahati.

The last quarter of the match was literally hot for both sides with the ball flying from one end to another.

The win enabled MIYOSA to move one place from the bottom position of the five teams.

MIYOSA have completed the first leg match with three points from four matches.

MIYOSA face Shofco from Bangladesh in the return leg match scheduled for Amani primary, Mombasa on September 22nd, 2018.

During the first leg match played at St. Mary’s Bangladesh Shofco won 3-1.

Meanwhile in the other Women league match played at Mwanj-ama primary Bright Starlets shared 2-2 spoils with Shofco.
