Zambia arrests 3 foreigners over human trafficking

LUSAKA, (Xinhua) -- Immigration authorities in Zamia have arrested three foreigners for alleged human trafficking, a spokesperson said on Tuesday.

Namati Nshika, Immigration Department Spokesperson, said the foreigners—two Kenyans and one Somalian—were arrested in Lusaka, the country’s capital, last week for suspected trafficking of six Somalians into the country.

The victims, including three females, two males and a child aged between five and seven years, were found at a lodge in one of the residential areas in the city, he said.

He said the three suspects were currently detained while the victims have been placed under protection.
