Coastweek -- Gor Mahia triumph over Young African SC in the return leg of CAF Confederation Cup in Dar-es-salaam, Tanzania has won the plaudits from the Head of Delegation Dickson Angore alias Mamelodi.

Gor Mahia beat Young Africa SC 3-2 at the National Stadium in Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania in the return leg of the Group D match after a 4-0 thumping in first leg match played at Kasarani in Nairobi and Mamelodi reveals that K’Ogallo’s ability to score away goals is a great milestone.

He urged other Kenyan clubs to emulate them.

Speaking during his homecoming in Malindi after the trip, Mamelodi who serves as the FKF North Coast Branch Secretary as well as the FKF League and Committee Member said away goals are very crucial in such championship and Gor Mahia are on the right footing with the current record.

“As the head of delegation I’m quite pleased with Gor Mahia performance and their appetite for away goals in CAF Confederation Cup match against our Tanzanian neighbours, Young African SC.

The boys have really done us proud and they have set a precedent for other Kenyan clubs to follow,” he said.

He further disclosed that he learnt valuable lessons and experience from CAF match officials in terms of the match organization and thanked Football Kenya Federation for according him the opportunity to serve as Head of the Delegation.

Meanwhile, Congo Boyz head coach Yusuf Ndere has praised his charges following a hard won 1-0 victory over Sparki Youth a FKF Division Two Northern Zone League Pool A match staged at home Serani Sports Ground.

Ndere applauded the boys for their fighting spirit considering they were playing against a more experienced opponents.

“It was a great challenge for my boys due to the experience of our opponents but thanks to the substitute I made changed the game immediately as he utilized the chance,” he said.

During the match second half super sub Bakari Stanley who replaced Yusuf Abdi netted the all-important goal in the injury time to enable the hosts’ bag maximum points.

Batoto Ba Congo Boyz are making their debut appearance in the FKF Division Two Northern Zone league this season and are currently ranked fifth position on the 19 team Pool A log with 31 matches from 17 matches.
