DAR ES SALAAM, (Xinhua) --
The Tanzania Agricultural
Development Bank (TADB) said on Wednesday it was working
on a plan to improve palm oil cultivation in the country
by supporting production of quality oil palm seeds.
Justine, TADB Acting Executive Director, said the move
followed the government’s call for more palm oil
cultivation in order to increase production of cooking
oil in the east African nation, the second largest
economy in East Africa.
briefing Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa on the various
interventions that the bank was making to help boost the
country’s agricultural sector.
Justine, TADB will collaborate with the Tanzania
Agricultural Seed Agency (TASA) to produce quality oil
palm seeds that will be sold at reasonable prices to
farmers in Kigoma.
