A GRAND opening ceremony was held at Gallo’s Restaurant, Diani,
when nearly 100 invited guests and VIPs were invited to witness
the newest taxi service on South Coast,

Malibu Taxi Service
had on display in the Diani Shopping Centre outisde their
office, three bright yellow taxi cabs (with a fourth one due
next week) with their uniformed drivers.
The cabs are
air-conditioned, they are on radio call, and they offer a 24
hour service - at prices less than those charged by random
existing taxis stationed along the coast road, and those based
at the coast hotels.
Malibu Taxi Service
is founded by Georg Karoly, and jointly owned with and run with
Zubeda Ganguma, from their office complex in the Diani Shopping
Centre, which also houses Malibu Safaris.
Mrs. Pushpa Haria,
Mr. Haria and Mrs. Rekha Shavadia, Mrs. Sadhnan Doshi, Mrs. Illa
Shah, Mr. Vinod Dattani and Mrs. Shah have worked hand-in-hand
to raise money for the Shanzu Transitional Workshop for Disabled
Girls. Mrs. D. P. Shah - Commissioner / Trainer, Coast,
subsequently received a Cheque of Kshs. 90,000/- from Mrs.
Pushpa Haria, Mr. Gulab Haria and Mrs. Rekha Shavadia in the
presence of Kisauni D.O., Mr. Paul.
This money will be
used to build the kitchen, store and dining hall. They still
needed Kshs. 1.5 Million to complete the project.
Mombasa water and
power experts AQUIFER limited Director Geoff Turner informed
“We can provide
Domestic desalination units capable of handling most types of
regional borehole or well water.
These units will
give upto 2,400 Iitres per day of fresh, pure water. Bacteria
and salinity free, the water can be put to immediate and SAFE
use. The units are compact, well constructed, and simple to
desalination plants are more expensive than their ‘domestic’
cousins but with existing service lives well in excess of seven
years, they are cost effective.
If sea water or
highly saline water is all you have, these units are the answer
to your water problems.

beginning of new Express Jet-Service that offers Kenyan
travellers, in particular, and the general traveller a different
scheduled Tri-Jet-Service linking Mombasa and Nairobi to
prominent business centers of Eldoret and Kisumu.
