Madrasa Early Childhood
Programme- Kenya (MECP-K) under the leadership of the
National Board, the pre-school committee, parents and
the larger community of Kadiria Nursery School planted
thirty one (31) Eucalyptus tree seedlings last week
in an effort to mark the end of the Diamond Jubilee
The project was identified and
supported by Ms. Narmin H. Somji - Chairman of the MECP-K
as a longstanding contribution to enhance the pre-school
environment through establishing trees for posterity as
well as inspiring ECD centres towards a greener
The community expressed sincere
appreciation to MECP-K for selecting them for this
project. The community committed towards caring for the
seedlings through regular watering.
Many thanks to Mr. Hamisi Vyombo (MECP-K
Driver) for leading the process with due expertise on
spacing, depth and care plan for the trees.
The event was concluded with a brief
session by Mr. Ramadhan Mohammed (MECP-K Programme
Officer) to sensitize teachers and the larger community
on benefits of trees.
