MECP-K Planted Thirty-One Eucalyptus Tree Seedlings

Coastweek -- “Yes, a greener tomorrow is a possibility”.

Madrasa Early Childhood Programme- Kenya (MECP-K) under the leadership of the National Board, the pre-school committee, parents and the larger community of Kadiria Nursery School planted thirty one (31) Eucalyptus tree seedlings last week in an effort to mark the end of the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations.

The project was identified and supported by Ms. Narmin H. Somji - Chairman of the MECP-K as a longstanding contribution to enhance the pre-school environment through establishing trees for posterity as well as inspiring ECD centres towards a greener tomorrow.

The community expressed sincere appreciation to MECP-K for selecting them for this project. The community committed towards caring for the seedlings through regular watering.

Many thanks to Mr. Hamisi Vyombo (MECP-K Driver) for leading the process with due expertise on spacing, depth and care plan for the trees.

The event was concluded with a brief session by Mr. Ramadhan Mohammed (MECP-K Programme Officer) to sensitize teachers and the larger community on benefits of trees.
