Coastweek-- Ms Susanne Saari who is accompanied in her inaugural visit to Kenya by Skal CEO , Ms Daniella Otero landed at the Moi International Airport (MIA)  on Tuesday morning at 7.80 am.

Skal is the world’s largest international group uniting all sectors of tourism and travel industry.

Saari’s visit is to inspect designated venues for the 79th World Skal Congress which will be held in Mombasa from October 17th to October 21st, 2018.

Speaking upon arrival at the Pride Inn Paradise Beach Resort, Convention Centre and Spa, the venue for the Congress, Ms. Saari said that she was delighted to be in Kenya though for the first time to carry out inspection on key congress venues.

“I am in your beautiful country to carry out inspection on the host venue and other facilities that will play host to the global Skal Congress for three days,” she said.

Kenya was confirmed to be the host country during last Skal Congress held in Hyderabad, India in 2017.

On hand to receive her and her entourage were the Skal Kenya Coast President, Mr. Victor Shitakah, Chairman of the organising committee Mr. Mehboob Harunani, Managing Director of Pride Group Mr. Hasnain Noorani and General Manager of Pride Inn Hotel, Mr. Mohamed Omar respectively.

“We are all set to host the global event and hope to showcase Kenya’s prowess in its diverse tourist attractions,” Shitakah said.

Close to 1200 congress delegates from the more than 400 World Skal Clubs coming from 87 different nations of the world are expected to attend the congress.

“They will be good ambassadors coming here and as a host county and nation, we are putting our best foot forward to ensure that we have one of the best Skal Congresses held ever,” Shitakah said.

Apart from inspecting the host congress venue at Pride Inn Hotel, Saari and her team will also be  carrying out site inspection at the Fort Jesus Museum, a world heritage site which will host the Congress welcome cocktail party , Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort and Spa, Haller Park, Mombasa Serena Beach Resort and Spa and the Flamingo by Paradise Hotel respectively.
