Bandari Confident To Beat Wazito in KPL Match

Coastweek -- Bandari FC who are currently in fourth position in the Kenya Premier League will clash against the visiting debutants Wazito FC at Mbaraki Sports Club tomorrow.

The game is expected to be a thrilling affair as both teams have many talented youngsters.

Bandari are tipped to win the clash, taking into account their current fourth position in the league table having won a game and equalized in another.

They have five points and have yet to concede a goal from their previous three outings.

Wazito are in eighth place with four points but have played two games, won one and drawn the other.

They have also yet to concede a goal.

Bandari head coach, Ken Odhiambo asked Coast football fans to turn up in great numbers and cheer the home team to victory.

“We are going to play to win and increased our chances to jump up the league ladder,” he said.

Meanwhile, Coast flag bearers in the second tier FKF National Super League Modern Coast Rangers and Coast Stima registered maximum points after they won their second league matches during a double header staged at KPA Mbaraki Sports Club last weekend.

Rangers survived anxious moments before they cleared KCB shelves with a solitary goal in the first match played from 12.30 p.m.

Nahashon Thiongo scored from a rebound after Alex Yoroga strike hit the wood work.

The results were a sweet victory for the hosts who lost 2-0 to relegated KPLside Western Stima in their first away clash in Kisumu.

With the results Rangers have three points from two matches.

They travel upcountry to clash with Kenya Police in their next league match on Sunday at Narok Stadium.

League debutants Coast Stima downed Kisumu AllStars 2-1 in an entertaining second match played at the same venue.

Davis Shikala sent the home team the lead with a 30 yard blockbuster for a 1-0 lead at half time.

AllStars were awarded a penalty un the 58th minute after Dennis Ochieng was elbowed inside the box. Ochieng stepped up to convert the spectacular spot kick and levelled the score.

Stima restored lead in the 76th minute through Eric Mohammed.

Coast Stima host Nairobi Stima in their next league match scheduled at KPA Mbaraki Sports Club tomorrow Saturday.

In their first leg match played at Kakamega Bukhungu Stadium last weekend, Coast Stima was held to a one-all draw against Green Commandos.
