Gabriel Mghendi Applauded for His
Support in Football Development !

Coastweek -- FKF South Coast Branch League side Sargoi Youth FC head coach Omar Mahfoudh has paid tribute to FKF South Coast Branch Chairman Gabriel Mghendi for his support towards development of football in the region.

Speaking after attending the Branch Mini League finals held at RG Ngala primary school ground the veteran coach thanked Mghedi for the planned award gala.

“Having watched the concluded FKF South Coast Branch Mini League finals for the 2017 season I wish to applaud Mghedi for his support towards the development of the beautiful game as well as his efforts in facilitating the planned award gala for the winners,” said Mahfoudh.

The award gala will also serve as a platform to unveil the sponsors for the upcoming FKF South Coast Branch League 2018 season.

The last gala award was held in the year 2012 and sponsored by Mombasa County Governor Hassan Ali Joho through Hassan Joho Foundation in which Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) were feted as the Branch League champions.

Mahfoudh further appealed for other soccer chiefs across the country to emulate Mghendi’s efforts.

During the Branch finals, Sparki Youngsters lifted the title after they whipped Congo Boyz courtesy of strike by Masha “Bonge” Sammy in the 36th seconds, the fastest goal in the league.

 Besides being awarded a champions trophy and four balls, Sparki Youngers will be awarded a cool Sh100,000 cash award during the planned award gala.

Congo Boys who won the runners up award trophy and two balls will be awarded Sh50,000.

FKF Mombasa County League champions Ashton Fin Rangers from Changamwe will also pocket Sh50,000 during the award gala after they saw off Kishada from Kisauni 3-1.

Apart from Mahfoudh, others who gave a pat on the back to Mghendi are FKF Southern Branch Secretary Samuel Mwongela, Kenya Premier League side Kariobangi Sharks Team Manager Steven Otieno, Sparki Youth Chairman Ali Amer Ahmed, Ziwani Youth Organizing Secretary Khalid Amran both of  FKF Division Two league as well as prominent Mombasa Businessman and soccer promoter Mahmoud Noor.
