Authorities in Ethiopia’s northern Amhara
regional state announced on Monday they have arrested two
individuals for sorcery.
Chief Crime Detective Fanos Endarge of Debre Birhan city, Amhara
regional state, said the two suspects are accused of promising
to cure 12 individuals of their illnesses through sorcery acts
in exchange for money, state-owned Ethiopia News Agency
The two suspects were arrested on Jan. 20 while in the process
of receiving 101 Ethiopian birr (3.75 U.S. dollars) from an
individual to “cure” his illness.
