The 2018 Kenyan National Rally Raid Championship
Roars Into Action with a Brand New Sponsor

Coastweek -- The 2018 Kenyan National Rally Raid Championship has received a boost with the announcement that two of Kenya’s premier regional airlines will come on board as title partners for the four events comprising the 2018 national championship.

Fly-SAX and Fly-540 will support the series with logistics, marketing and medical cover throughout 2018.

The opening round of the 2018 Fly-SAX and Fly540 Kenyan National Rally Raid Championship will take place near Nanyuki in Northern Kenya over the weekend of 24 and 25 February and will be organized by the Nanyuki Rally Group.

This event will feature over 220 kilometres of competitive mileage, all on private land.

The organisers have also ensured that spectators don’t miss out on the action, with a dedicated camping area, catering and exciting spectator points already arranged to ensure that the fans don’t miss a thing !

Kenya’s best drivers and riders are all expected to compete, with Classic Safari Rally winner Carl “Flash” Tundo returning in his formidable Milner, with which he has finished runner up in the last two championships.

Newly crowned Kenyan National Rally Champion Ian Duncan has confirmed that he will contest the entire series… but the big questions is whether he dust off the might Nissan Patrol or stick with his equally as successful Toyota Prado?

Both crews will face stiff competition from a variety of machines old and new.

Multiple champion Nish Lakhani, Mikey Hughes and Adnin Haq will take the fight to a horde of the exciting South African built Century Racing CRT’s.

Coastweek -- 2017 Rally Raid Championship Winner Ross Field and Quentin Savage heading to victory last year in their CRT Raid Car.

These rumbling custom built V8’s are already proven winners and the defending champion Ross Field admits that recent upgrades have made his car even faster!

In the bike category multiple times champion Shivam Vinyak has changed manufacturers and will be hoping to successfully defend his title, but there are a number of top riders eager to stamp their authority on Kenya’s most exciting motorsport series.

For those unable to attend this exciting event, the championship will be airing the highlights of the weekend on their dedicated facebook page, Rally Raid Kenya, in early March.
