Tamil culture at Assistant High Commission of India Mombasa | Coastweek

Coastweek -- Assistant High Commission of India, Mombasa organized a Folk Dance Performance called “ Kargam Peacock”  a dance form from the Tamil Nadu State of India at the Navnat Vanik Mahajan Auditorium. The event was graced by His Excellency, Evans Acholi, the County Commissioner,  Mombasa as Chief Guest and His Excellency, Salim Mahoud Salim, the Deputy County Commissioner of Mombasa as Guest of Honour. The event was sponsored by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Ministry of External Affairs, and Government of India.

Coastweek --  On Friday, January 19, 2018, the Assistant High Commission of India, Mombasa organized a Folk-Dance Performance called “Kargam Peacock”, a dance form from the Tamil Nadu State of India at the Navnat Vanik Mahajan Auditorium. As on several occasions in the past, the event was sponsored by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Ministry of External Affairs, and Government of India.

The event was graced by His Excellency Evans Achoki, the County Commissioner, Mombasa as Chief Guest and His Excellency, Salim Mahmoud Salim, the Deputy County Commissioner of Mombasa as Guest of Honour.

Over past several years the High Commission of India, Nairobi and the Assistant High Commission of India, Mombasa have been bringing to the friendly people of Mombasa the colours and flavours of the rich and vibrant Indian fine arts, particularly the song and dance category.

The Assistant High Commission would like to place on record its sincere thanks to the members of Mombasa public who have been tuning out in large numbers to savour the performances and to encourage the artists.

The credit of success of these events indeed, for major part, goes to them.

In connection with the event, the Assistant High Commission would also like to express its sincere thanks to Shree Navnat Vanik Mahajan and its Chairman, Mr. Manoj Shah for renting their beautiful auditorium;

Siri Guru Singh Sabha and its chairman, Mr. Mohinder Singh Sohal for proving accommodation and meals;

Mr. Sandip Solanki for managing Public Address System;

the Owl Security represented by Mr. Tony Manale for providing internal security; and
