Coastweek -- Liga FC
succeeded in winning the Ajab Super Cup when they registered a fine
2-0 victory over Young Heroes FC during the final match played at
Mtwapa Primary School.
The game was officiated by FIFA referee, Khamis Baghazally.
La Liga got their two goals through Khalid Joseph in the 37th
and 75th minutes.
The match attracted a capacity crowd including former Mwenge
(Liverpool) players, Abdalla Mohamed and Omar Faraj and for Mombasa
Posta and Kenatco player, Ali Mussa and a prominent Mombasa
personality, Nahid Mussa.
Ajab Sales Manager, Ismail Ahmed who was the Chief Guest said he
hopes to sponsor other competitions in various Coastal areas with
the intention of encouraging youngsters develop their talents.
“I believe young people are more involved in football and they will
be able to avoid involving themselves in bad habits that are harmful
to their lives.
“I am glad to see many fans turning up in great numbers and cheer
their teams in discipline manner,” she said.
La Liga were awarded Sh10,000 and a trophy with Young Heroes getting
Eight teams participated in the tournament.
