PYONGYANG, (Xinhua) --
The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK)
has congratulated Zimbabwe’s new president Emmerson Mnangagwa on
his inauguration as the head of state, the official Korean
Central News Agency said Monday.
Kim Yong Nam,
president of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly, on
Saturday sent a congratulatory message to Mnangagwa, wishing the
latter big success in his work for the country’s stability and
prosperity, as well as regional peace and development.
Kim also expressed
his belief that the long-standing, traditional, friendly and
cooperative relations between the two countries would continue
to strengthen in the future.
The DPRK and
Zimbabwe maintained close relationship during the rule of former
Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe.
China congratulates Mnangagwa
on taking office as Zimbabwe’s president
BEIJING, (Xinhua) --
Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday sent a
congratulatory message to Zimbabwe’s new president Emmerson
Mnangagwa, a foreign ministry spokesperson said.
Xi said in the
congratulatory message that China and Zimbabwe are good friends,
partners and brothers. Bilateral ties have withstood the test of
time and changing international situation.
China values the
traditional friendship with Zimbabwe and stands ready to work
together for strengthening all-round cooperation and advancing
bilateral ties, so as to bring benefits to the two countries and
two peoples, according to spokesperson Geng Shuang.
Mnangagwa was sworn
in as the president of Zimbabwe Friday.
