Coastweek --
Light academy prevailed in a closely contested Taekwondo match
against all odds and was crowned winners of the 2017
Inter-Schools Shield Championship with a total of four gold,
three silver and two bronze medals.
The event was
organised by Mombasa Taekwondo Centre in conjunction with
Mombasa County Taekwondo Association and was held at Light
Academy Mombasa.
Kencada Academy took
second position while the defending champions Oshwal Academy
settled for third place.
The event which was
sponsored by Mombasa Taekwondo Centre, a leading Taekwondo Club
in the region, was attended by over 60 students from different
schools within the region.
The technical
chairman of Mombasa County Taekwondo Association Master Bob
Otieno congratulated all the participants and said due to the
popularity and growth of the sport in the region, companies and
well wishers should come on board and help in sponsoring of such
Taekwondo events for the benefit of local youths. |
