Cote d’Ivoire rider Cisse Issiaka wins
26th international cycling race of Togo    

LOME, (Xinhua) -- Cote d’Ivoire rider Cisse Issiaka won the yellow jersey of the 26th international cycling race of Togo that closed on Sunday in the capital Lome, organizers said.

He grasped the yellow Jersey in the first stage of the competition that kicked off on 11 April and has made all the efforts to keep it till the end on Sunday 16 April.

Meanwhile, the Belgian Stein Van Couter won the sixth and last stage of the competition, a 80km stage, as he finished the stage in one hour, 8 minutes and 12 seconds at an average cycling speed of 44.8 km per hour.

In overall ranking, Cisse Issiaka topped the competition in 14 hours, 31 minutes and 11 seconds, tip-toed by the Frenchman Bousquet Pascal who made the same record.

The Dutch PijlVan Der Niels ranked third as he recorded 14 hours, 33 minutes and 40 seconds for the whole 26th international cycling race of Togo.

Dutch rider Pijl Van Der Niels wins 5th stage of 26th int’l cycling race of Togo

LOME, (Xinhua) -- Pijl Van Der Niels from the Netherlands on Saturday won the fifth stage Tchamba-Blitta of the 26th international cycling race of Togo, organizers said.

Van Der Niels finished the 124-km stage in 2 hours, 43 minutes and 9 seconds, with an average cycling speed of 42 km per hour.

Belgian rider Stein Van Couter came second as he finished the stage in 2 hours, 44 minutes and 24 seconds, followed by another Dutch rider Merx Peter in the third place at 2:44:24.

The yellow jersey holder Cisse Issiaka from Cote d’Ivoire finished tenth at the eve of the last and sixth stage of 80km to be contested on Sunday. 

Only 66 riders out of a total of 76 who took the start on 11 April of the international cycling race of Togo finished the fifth stage on Saturday.

Belgian rider wins 4th stage of 26th int’l cycling race of Togo

LOME, (Xinhua) -- Belgian rider Seppe Wangheluwe won the 4th stage Kara-Tchamba of the 26th international cycling race of Togo on Friday.

He finished the 104-km stage in 2 hours, 53 minutes and 16 seconds representing an average riding speed of 37 km per hour, organizers said.

The Togolese rider Akanga Raouf came second with the same time, followed by another Belgian rider Stein Van Couter, also with the same result.

The fifth stage Tchamba-Blitta of 124-km will be held on Saturday, a day before the closing stage on Sunday in the capital Lome.
