Allan Katerega Leads AFC Leopards
to Victory Against Muhoroni  Youth 

Coastweek -- AFC Leopards under the guidance of former Tanzania’s Azam FC coach, Stewart Hall had to sweat before beating Muhoroni Youth FC 1-0 during a SportPesa Premier League match played at Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa..

Leopards snatched the match winner in the 35th minute through Allan Katerega.

The game which was played after the Bandari-Thika United clash saw Muhoroni putting a brave fight and could have snatched an equaliser in the last minute when second half substitute Thomas Venval sent a powerful header which just went wide.

Leopards strikers Daniel Otieno, Ally Ahmed, Calvince Omanga raided their oppo-nents goal from time to time in the first 45 minutes but all their efforts were thwarted by Muhoroni goalkeeper Salim Sowed who emerged the star attraction.

In the 20th minute, AFC Leopards’ Andrew Tololwa was put through by Salim Abdalla but delayed with the ball and Muhoroni central defender Collins Agade cleared the danger.

It was in the 35th minute that Leopards who were playing this game as their home ground with many fans supporting them, got their lone goal when Isuza Whvonne dribbled a defender and put the ball to Allan Katerega to unleash a powerful drive past the helpless Sowed.

Leopards coach Stewart Hall blamed the playing pitch and the referee for their failure to win the game convincingly.

“I’m not satisfied with the way the whistler officiated the game and the playing ground is not the right for such premier league matches,” said Hall.

His Muhoroni counterpart, James Omondi said his boys played well but luck was not on their side.

“I’m satisfied with the way my players played but lucky was not on our side because we missed many scoring chances,” he said.
