COASTWEEK, March 16 - 22, 1979:

Coastweek -- NEW MINISTER ARAP NG'ENY ASSURES OF IMPROVED OFF TAKE FOR NORTH COAST

"WITHIN A YEAR from now the whole of Kenya’s North Coast should have at least 50 per cent more water than it is receiving now, once the problems at Baricho Works (near Malindi) are resolved."

These encouraging remarks from the new Minister for Water Resources, Kipng’eno arap Ng’eny, were greeted with deafening applause by members of the Kenya Association of Hotel Keepers and Caterers, Coast Branch, whom he was meeting informally, at his invitation, at Travellers’ Beach Hotel, Tiwi, during a very intensive tour of the Coast.
