Coastweek-- Indian Association sponsored an
outreach camp at Mwarakaya Primary School where most residents
are poor and needy.
They were happy to be screened and
given free medicines.
Three hundred and fifty patients were
diagnosed with cataracts and taken to the Lions Medical
Centre to be operated free of charge.
Sixty spectacles were dispensed.
The surgery was done by Dr. Binns and
Dr. Sandhnya. Patients came all the way from Kilifi,
Bamba, Maweni, Msumrini etc.
All the surgery patients were
accommodated and operated and were returned back to
their destination by donor cost.
The Lions Medical Centre was thankful
to Mr. Vinod Dattani, co-ordinator for co-ordinating the
