Coastweek -- Some junior triathletes from Mombasa are seen at a past event in Cape Town, South Africa where they took part in the Gatorade triathlon championships.
Nyali International Beach To Host Junior Triathlon Event

Coastweek -- Preparations are in top gear at the Nyali International beach hotel and spa in readiness to host the Buffalo Junior Triathlon event.

Several schools and clubs have been invited and have confirmed participation.

Being a development event, everyone is a winner as participation is the key word. Each and every participant who will cross the finish line will be awarded with a finisher medal while the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd placed participants in every age group will receive a gold, silver and bronze medal respectively.

All participants will be awarded with a certificate as well. All schools and clubs who will participate shall be awarded with a participation trophy.

Apart from the event being a developmental event, we will also be scouting for potential triathletes who will be able to take part in international events in South Africa and Mauritius.

A Triathlon comprises of a swim/ a bike/ a run.

The race will start on the Nyali International Beach Hotel and Spa (sea), where each age group would swim the specific but achievable distance; this will be followed by cycling in an enclosed area and finally a run.

An Aquathon comprises of a run/a swim/a run.

The race will start on the Nyali International Beach Hotel and Spa (sea), where each age group would run along the beach the distance; this will be followed by a swim in the ocean and followed by a run a specified distance to finish.

Unlike most events, triathlon is a challenge.

One is a winner when they cross the finish line regardless of the position.

The swimming course will be under the watchful and experienced eyes of Mombasa’s own Iron man, Coach Fakhry Mansur and Coach Babuu Muoki among others.

The bike course will be under Coach Mohamed Ahmed alias GS who will be assisted by several senior cyclists.

The run and finish will be on the beach where Kenya’s number 1 triathlete, Coach Swaleh balala will be there to motivate and assist the juniors.

Hospitality, refreshments and presentation will be under the supervision of mama champ Jossette Njeri.

The event will be sanctioned by Kenya triathlon Association. ITU (International Triathlon Union) trained official, Abdulrazak Mwangi will be the event director.

All parents, coaches and general public who wish to be part of the event either in assisting and or share ideas should not hesitate to get in touch with us.

The event is very good for first timers as we will recognise each and every participant with a finisher medal.
