Sikh Union Win Against Kongonis By 6 Wickets        

Coastweek -- Sikh Union (18 Points) had a comfortable win over Kenya Kongonis Cricket Club (1 point) by six wickets on Sunday in the Nairobi Provincial Cricket Association Super League Match which was played at the Sikh Union Club.

The Match was officiated by Munir Khan and Subhash Modi while the Scorers were:

Ricky Marwe (Sikh Union), Caalistus Makacha (Kongonis) and Yvonne Atieno (East African Cricket Foundation)

Brief Result:- Kenya Kongonis Cricket Club Captain Chris Childs won the toss and elected to bat first and were soon in trouble against the tight bowling and fine fielding and eventually were all out for 134 runs in 39.2 overs.

The top scorer for Kongonis was Dola Abala with impressive 39 and he was well supported by Paul Njere (19), Emmanuel Opura (17) Dominic Wesonga (12) Edward Cunynghame (11) andNewton Muthee (11).

For Sikh Union the bowling was spearheaded by Nadeem Ahmed (3/26), Sandip Adole (2/27),Hamza Amir (2/24).

Sikh Union scored the required runs to win - 137/4 in 38 overs for the loss of 4 wickets thanks mainly to Ali Rehman 46, Rajiv Sutaria 32, Paranveer Singh 17 and Zahid Abbas 12.

For Kongonis Tony Ochieng was the most successful bowler with 3 wickets for 21 runs. Sikh Union won by 6 wickets.

Worth Mentioning here: Both the wicket- keepers, Zahid Abbas(Sikh Union) and Newton Muthee (Kongonis) kept the wickets very well.

Michael Davis (Kongonis) took brilliant catches in the Mid On.

It was good to see Paul Marshall (cricketer and a former Official of Kongonis) and Kalpesh Solanki (Former Cricket Kenya Development Director and Outdoor Sports Secretary of Sikh Union/Nairobi Gymkhana) watching the noble game among  others supporters.

Dola Abala Becomes Top Scorer of the Day

Coastweek -- Ruaraka Sports Club beat Kenya Kongonis Cricket Club by 5 wickets in the ongoing Nairobi Provincial Cricket Association Super League Match on Sunday at the Ruaraka Sports Club, reports Subhash Modi.

Ruaraka Sports Club  Captain Tushar Vaghani won the toss and elected to field first.

Kenya Kongonis Cricket Club started very well thanks to a fine opening batting  first wicket  partnership of 56 runs between the Veteran David Waters(20) and Mike Davis(33).

Everntually KKCC were bowled out for 187 runs in 47.1 overs.

Top Scorer was Dola Abala with an intelligent and patience knock of 52 runs.

Bowling honours were shared by Satyajit Sinh Gohil 2/30, Dhruvra Sinh 5/45, Tushar Vaghani 1/43, & Purshottam Vekaria 1/39.

In Reply the hosts Ruaraka managed to score the required runs 188/5 in 31 overs thanks to a brilliant knock of 98 by Keyur Parmar and he was well supported by Rahul Chauhan 25 and Purshottam Vekaria 20.

Successful bowlers for Kongonis were Eugene Ochieng 1/24, Martin Mworia 1/24, Dominic Wesonga 1/23, and Dola Abala 1/23.

The match was officiated by Shanti Patel & Subhash Modi while the Scorers were Tushar Hirani(Ruaraka) & Stephen Muli, Yvonne Atieno(East African Cricket Fondation).
