XINHUA NEWS SERVICE REPORTS FROM THE AFRICAN CONTINENT

Thoughts on the run - from Alnashir Walji in Nairobi City

Coastweek -- Top Award for Serena ....so ‘reads’ Coastweek edition ( March 25, 2016 ).

Coast five - star ‘plush’ hotels live up to the ‘reputation’ as the best - maintaing high - standards.

Luxurious, well - equipped with swimming - pools and other ‘recreational’ facilities - no doubt ‘idyllic’ Mombasa is favorite tourist - destination.

Singled out is Whitesands ( Sarvo ): the ‘gamut’ of activities taking place i. e.  conferences ‘hosted’, wedding - parties, other business ‘deliberated/ conducted, Easter, Christmas or other ‘religious ‘festivals - sees locals as well as tourists indulging in ‘revelry’.

Added to this the South Coast ‘beaches’ namely Diani are ‘ranked’ as the best in the world.

All this ‘makes’ the port - city an ‘ideal’ resort ‘comparable’ with ‘others i.e. French Riviera, Miami.

A ‘lucrative’ foreign - exchange ‘earner’ - the tourism - sector must be given the ‘necessary’ boost and promoted/ advertised ‘abroad’.

What ‘tourists’ crave is ‘security’ - impeccable ‘services’ - and all that tourist - hub would ‘offer’ i.e. better ‘infrastructure.

Let not crime/ terrorism be a ‘bloat’ ( scourge ) on the tourism - industry.

Hail Mombasa - harbor - a tourist - haven!
.

Ocean in its ‘majesty’ ebbs and flows

Coastweek -- The waves ‘undulating’ ( oscillating ) are a sight/ site to ‘behold’.

The ‘turquoise’ color of the ‘expansive’ sea - ‘epitomizes’ nature’s - beauty.

Adding to the landscape with forests ( greenery ) etc.

The ‘tides’ of the ‘ocean’ are a ‘marvel’ to watch - as one ‘ponders’ on ‘creation.

Surfing on ocean waters or deep - sea ‘diving’ are ‘spectacular’ sports.

A cruise ship ( tanker ) plying the calm- sea is a ‘distraction’ from the ‘monotony’ of ocean - stretching to ‘infinity’.

The ‘sandy’ beaches on the ‘fringes’ of ocean sees ‘debris’ etc. been washed away by the ‘furious’ sea - gives it a ‘pristine’ look.

On a ‘typical’ day - an ‘uneasy’ calm hovers/ prevails as the ‘tides’ recede.

A shoreline - is a ‘picturesque’ sight - hence ‘characteristic’ of maritime - nation
