Matches Kick Off This Weekend

‘Old is Gold’ Super Cup competition
to reach its climax at M.S.C. ground

Coastweek - - Sixteen Mombasa Wild Waters Premier League matches, sponsored by Reliable Group of Companies have been drawn to take place at various playing fields between tomorrow (Saturday) and Thursday, reports ABDULREHMAN SHERIFF.

According to Senior Vice chairman of Kenya Football Federation (KFF) Mombasa sub-branch, Haroun Mwandoe, four matches each are to be played tomorrow, on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.

Tomorrow, Majaoni Wanderers clash with Mufadhal at Annex Prisons ground, Kikulacho play Mtopanga Cranes at Khadija primary school ground, Bayern tackle M+R Spedag at Tononoka ground and AC Scud entertain Tononoka Rangers at Bomani ground.

On Sunday, AC Scud clash with Nibal FC at Shika Adabu ground, Rising Stars meet Majaoni Wanderers at Khadija primary school ground, Bayern FC play Chaani United at Tudor primary school ground and M+R Spedag faces Ziwani Sportiff at Tononoka ground.

On Tuesday, Bamburi Beach clash with Mtopanga Cranes at Khadija primary school ground, Spartak Moons entertain Bayern FC at Tononoka ground, Nibal FC meet Kongowea United at Tudor primary school ground and Mombasa Beach tackle Kikul-acho FC at Shimanzi ground.

On Thursday, Majaoni Wanderers and M+R Spedag meet at Annex Prisons ground; AC Milan play Likoni Stars at Tononoka ground, Kongowea United clash with Kikulacho FC in a local derby at Khadija primary school ground and Spartak Moons takes on Nibal FC at Tudor primary school ground.

Meanwhile, the first semi-final matches of the on going ‘Old is Gold’ Super Cup competition will be played on Monday and Wednesday.

The teams to play were yet known as we were going to press.

The competition organised by Mombasa Sports Club (MSC) and sponsored by African Merchants and Kilifi Gold is expected to reach its climax on Sunday with the final match to take place at MSC ground.

Teams which are taking part in the annual competition are MSC, West Ham, Sparki United and Hamburg (Group ‘A’) with Group ‘B’ teams consisting of Bandari, Taanim, Tudor United and Fetuwe.

In another development, the semi-finals of the Councillor Kipara Cup under-18 soccer competition are to be played tomorrow at Zakhem ground, one to kick-off at 2 p.m. and the other to follow at 4 p.m.

The final is set for Sunday from 4 p.m. The tournament involves eight clubs from Changamwe, which have been divided into two pools.

Pool ‘A’ consists of Gunners, Espirito, Nyota and AC Milan with Pool ‘B’ having Mwamlai Rangers, Green Bombers, Hidden Talent and Keroro.

Winner will be presented with a trophy and one football with the runner-up and third placed teams to get a ball each.

The tournament is approved by Miritini Councillor, Yahya Birsher Kipara.
